The Dengue Combo NS1, IgG, and IgM Screen (Rapid) test is a qualitative immunochromatographic assay performed on human serum for the simultaneous detection of Dengue Virus NS1 antigen and IgM/IgG antibodies. The test is based on the lateral flow immunoassay principle, where specific monoclonal antibodies detect NS1 antigen (early marker of acute infection), and dengue-specific antigens capture IgM and IgG antibodies present in the patient’s serum, producing visible colored lines on the test device. NS1 antigen is usually detectable from day 1 to day 5–7 of fever, IgM antibodies indicate recent or primary infection, and IgG antibodies suggest past exposure or secondary infection. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical findings and other laboratory investigations, as a negative result does not completely exclude dengue infection, especially depending on the stage of illness.
