The Cardiac Marker Profile comprising Troponin I, CPK-MB, LDH, and hs-CRP is a panel of blood tests performed on serum to evaluate myocardial injury and inflammation associated with acute coronary syndromes. Troponin I is a highly specific and sensitive marker of cardiac muscle damage and rises within a few hours of myocardial infarction; CPK-MB is a cardiac-specific isoenzyme that supports the diagnosis of acute myocardial injury; LDH is a less specific enzyme that may increase in tissue damage including cardiac injury; and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) is an inflammatory marker used to assess cardiovascular risk and ongoing inflammation. The combined interpretation of these markers, along with clinical findings and electrocardiographic changes, aids in the diagnosis, risk stratification, and monitoring of patients with suspected acute coronary events.
