STOOL OCCULT BLOOD (FOBT) is a screening test used to detect hidden (occult) blood in stool that is not visible to the naked eye. The presence of occult blood may indicate gastrointestinal bleeding due to conditions such as gastritis, ulcers, polyps, hemorrhoids, inflammatory bowel disease, or colorectal cancer.
