The Anti-Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide (Anti-CCP) test is a quantitative immunoassay performed on serum to detect antibodies directed against cyclic citrullinated peptides. It is a highly specific marker for rheumatoid arthritis and is useful in the early diagnosis and prognosis of the disease. Elevated Anti-CCP levels are associated with autoimmune joint inflammation and may indicate a more aggressive disease course. Results should be interpreted in correlation with clinical findings and other tests such as Rheumatoid Factor (RF).
