The PSA Free (Prostate Specific Antigen) test is a quantitative immunoassay performed on serum to measure the unbound (free) fraction of PSA in the blood. It is primarily used along with Total PSA to help differentiate between benign prostatic conditions and prostate cancer. The ratio of Free PSA to Total PSA improves diagnostic accuracy, particularly in patients with borderline elevated Total PSA levels. Results should be interpreted in correlation with clinical findings and other diagnostic evaluations.
